Most podcast salespeople sell ad slots. CPMs, impressions, media kits as if they’re selling banners. We don’t. At The Trueman Show you don’t sell airtime. You select which brands deserve to reach almost a million listeners per month.

It’s more than a platform for open and in-depth conversations, it’s a place where host Jorn Luka, together with his guests, searches for truth, meaning, and personal growth.

It’s a quest for truth, without defining truth. With the goal of contributing to a collective process: awakening from definitions, lifting veils and revealing essence. Discovering what we truly want and what we can do to achieve it.

To realize this international ambition, we’re looking for a Podcast Producer who will make the difference behind the scenes.

Your Mission

Zero tolerance for bullshit ads. That is the reality of The Trueman Show. Our community sees through every commercial trick and that is exactly what makes us valuable to the right advertisers. Every ad on The Trueman Show is handpicked, host-read and fits a community that lives consciously. That makes us selective. That makes us difficult. And that makes this the most exciting sales challenge out there right now. We are going international and you will make sure we sit down with the right global players.

You will be the person who bridges The Trueman Show and the (international) brands that truly matter to our community. You build an ad revenue strategy that doesn’t just deliver financially but enriches the listening experience. You don’t think in “ad slots” but in partnerships. Not in CPMs but in community fit.

This requires someone who is just as comfortable in a sales conversation with a CMO as in a brainstorm about which supplement actually works. Someone who understands why our listeners don’t like standard advertising and who knows exactly how to turn that into a strength. How to offer The Trueman Show listener genuine added value.

What you’ll be doing

1. Finding the right brands

  • You identify brands and companies that perfectly align with our themes: health, consciousness, spirituality, nutrition, personal development and geopolitics
  • You actively target large international brands and companies, from supplement brands to influencers, from retreat organisations to conscious tech companies. Including parties that already invest in podcast advertising on the major international shows. You convince them why The Trueman Show is their next move.
  • You approach prospects proactively with sharp pitches and a compelling media kit
  • You leverage the international growth potential, the English-speaking market opens the door to advertisers who are used to investing seriously in podcasts

2. From conversation to partnership

  • You negotiate rates, formats and contract terms
  • You close deals and build long-term partnerships, not one-off transactions but recurring collaborations
  • You combine smartly: host-read ads and affiliate deals in one package where both the brand and our community benefit
  • You actively maintain relationships with existing partners and maximise repeat business

3. Guarding community fit

  • You instinctively feel which brands do and don’t fit The Trueman Show and the That’s the Spirit community
  • You work closely with the production team to develop host-read scripts that sound authentic and natural
  • You ensure that ads strengthen the listening experience rather than disrupt it
  • You monitor listener feedback and adjust the strategy when needed

4. Strategy and growth

  • You develop an advertising strategy that fits our podcast
  • You develop a concrete go-to-market approach for acquiring international advertisers, including pricing, proposition and target list
  • You report on pipeline, deals, revenue and community fit metrics
  • You track all interactions and sales progress in the CRM system
  • You think cross-platform: how can advertisers also be integrated via the streaming platform, events or the webshop?

What you bring

Real results

  • 3+ years of experience and a proven track record in media sales, podcast advertising, sponsorship sales or similar. Don’t have 3 years of experience? If you are on fire about our mission and have the drive to master those sales skills, we’ll set that criterion aside. But you’d better convince us big time.
  • Understanding of podcast advertising formats: host-read ads, pre-roll, mid-roll, dynamic insertion, affiliate deals and brand partnerships
  • Experience building and managing a sales pipeline

Sales DNA

  • You are a closer, you bring in deals, not just leads
  • You are comfortable approaching international decision-makers and can pitch at C-level in English
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships
  • You can translate the value of our platform into a compelling story for advertisers

Cultural fit

  • You have genuine affinity with consciousness, personal development, health and spirituality
  • You understand our community and feel why certain brands do and others don’t fit
  • You understand the thin line between commerce and authenticity and you know how to walk it

Independence & Ownership

  • You take ownership of this project, you are a self-starter who takes initiative and delivers results
  • You communicate directly and honestly
  • You are driven and motivated to strengthen our mission

Nice to have

  • Existing network in the podcast or media industry (national and/or international)
  • Experience with or connections to international podcast advertising networks or major brands active in podcast sponsoring (think of the type of advertisers you see on top US/UK podcasts)
  • Experience in the wellness, health or conscious living market
  • Experience with affiliate marketing and performance-based partnerships
  • English-language sales experience for international expansion
